If you’re looking for a healthy yet flavorful meal that’s both filling and satisfying, Turkey-Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms are a perfect choice. This dish combines the earthy richness of Portobello mushrooms with lean ground turkey and savory seasonings, creating a delicious and nutritious meal that’s low in carbs but high in protein and flavor. Whether you’re looking for a healthy dinner or a fun way to enjoy mushrooms, this recipe is sure to impress.
The Portobello mushroom caps serve as the perfect “bowl” for the stuffing, offering a meaty texture and earthy flavor that complements the turkey. The mushrooms are first prepped by removing the stems and gills, creating a cavity for the stuffing. Then, lean ground turkey is sautéed with garlic, onions, and herbs, creating a flavorful base. You can also add spinach, zucchini, or other vegetables to the turkey mixture to boost the nutritional value and add a pop of color.
For an extra layer of richness, top the stuffed mushrooms with shredded cheese, such as mozzarella or Parmesan, and bake until the cheese is golden and melted. The mushrooms cook down as they bake, releasing their juices, which meld beautifully with the savory turkey filling. The result is a dish that’s both hearty and satisfying, with the mushrooms adding a wonderful depth of flavor to each bite.
These Turkey-Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms make a great main dish or a light dinner option, and they’re perfect for meal prepping. They’re gluten-free, low-carb, and packed with protein, making them a great choice for anyone following a healthier lifestyle. Serve them with a side of roasted vegetables, a green salad, or even quinoa for a complete meal.

Do you HAVE to use turkey? I prefer chicken. Would that still taste good? 🤔
I think chicken would work just fine! Might even give it a different flavor. Go for it! 🍗
Quick and easy! Just slapped that turkey in and it was done! A+
Basic but yummy! Add some hot sauce for a kick! 😋
The turkey mixture was good but I overcooked the mushrums 😅. Will try again!
NOPE. This was a flop. Mushrooms were weird to eat. Never again!
The recipe is good but I got confused with the baking time. Is it really 20-25 mins? Mine seemed undercooked.
Mushrooms? No thanks. Tried it with chicken instead! 🤷♂️
Chicken sounds good, but you gotta try the mushrooms! They add a whole different flavor profile.🙌
Mushrooms are just gross! Sticking with chicken is the way to go for sure!
Followed recipe but forgot garlic. Huge mistake. 3 stars.
I thought the mushrooms would be soggy, but they turned out really good! Surprised me.
That’s awesome! I love when a dish surprises you in a good way. Mushrooms can be tricky, but they can turn out so tasty when done right!
I think this recipe is missing something…maybe hot sauce?
These are amazing! I added some crushed red pepper for a kick. Will make again!
I dunno… Mushrooms don’t really taste that good. You could try this with zucchini instead?
These were okay but my kids didn’t like them. They said the mushrooms were weird. 🥴
Yum, but why not just use beef? Turkey is kinda dry personally.
Very filling! I also added some rice on the side. Might try quinoa next time.
Rice? Isn’t it already filling enough? I don’t know about that…
Sounds delicious! I love the idea of adding quinoa for some extra protein. Gonna try that next time!
These were amazing! So flavorful and healthy. Going to make them again this weekend.
I don’t like mushrooms, so I skipped those and used zucchini instead. Still good.
Zucchini sounds great! I bet it added a nice crunch. Can’t wait to try it!
This is a delicious recipe! I added some crushed red pepper for a kick. Yum!
Sounds amazing! I love the idea of adding red pepper for some heat. Can’t wait to try this out!
These were absolutely delicious! The turkey and mushrooms paired perfectly. Will definitely make again!
I tried this recipe last night and it was good, but I think the mushrooms were too big! Next time, I’ll use smaller ones. Thanks for sharing!
Delicious? Seriously? I thought it was kinda bland. More spices would help.
Honestly, I was skeptical about turkey in mushrooms. They tasted okay but not my favorite. Just didn’t hit right.
This sounds fancy but isn’t hard to make. Impressed my friends!
