2 cups all-purpose flour | |

1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed | |
1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped | |
1/2 cup chocolate chips | |
2/3 cup milk | |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
1. | Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. |
2. | In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. |
3. | Cut the cold butter into the flour mixture using a pastry cutter or your fingertips, until it resembles coarse crumbs. |
4. | Add the chopped strawberries and chocolate chips to the flour mixture, tossing to combine. |
5. | In a separate small bowl, mix together the milk and vanilla extract. Pour the milk mixture into the flour mixture, stirring until just combined. |
6. | Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and gently knead it a few times until it comes together. |
7. | Shape the dough into a circle about 1-inch thick. Cut the circle into 8 wedges. |
8. | Place the scones onto the prepared baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown. |
9. | Allow the scones to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy! |
