A delicious and nutritious recipe featuring sardines and broccoli rabe.
1 bunch broccoli rabe | |
3 tablespoons olive oil | |
2 cloves garlic, minced | |
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes | |
1 can sardines | |
Salt and pepper to taste | |
Grated Parmesan cheese (optional) |
1. | Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the broccoli rabe and cook for 2 minutes. Drain and set aside. |
2. | In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant. |
3. | Add the drained broccoli rabe to the skillet and sauté for 5-7 minutes, until tender. |
4. | Add the sardines to the skillet and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until heated through. |
5. | Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired. |
