Ingredients

  • 2 pounds beef round steak
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 onion large, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 can diced tomatoes 14 oz
  • 1 can Tomato sauce 8 ounces
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Quick and easy, just how I like it! I used chicken instead of beef and it still turned out great! Just be sure to adjust the cook time. 😄

It seems way too simple for Swiss steak. I doubt it’ll be that good.

Why would anyone put Worcestershire sauce in a steak dish? That stuff is weird. I left it out and it was still okay, but not great.

    1. 4 stars
No way, sauce is saucy! My grandma used to say that it makes the beef juicier. Plus, it ain’t weird, just adds flavor. You should give it another shot!

I don’t get why people like this recipe. My steak was tough and greasy. Maybe I did something wrong? 🤔

I substituted chicken for beef cause I’m a vegetarian. It was okay.

I don’t know, it didn’t turn out like I expected. The beef was too tough.

Hmm, seems like you might be doing it wrong. The recipe says simmer for an hour, that’s how you get it soft, right?

Sorry to hear that! Maybe try cooking it a bit longer next time? It could help the beef get more tender.

Why is there tomato sauce AND diced tomatoes? Seems kinda redundant.

  20. 5 stars
Yum! Parsley makes everything better! 🌿

The cook time seems long! Is it really necessary to simmer for an hour? 🤔

Kinda skeptical about the Worcestershire sauce. What’s that, anyway? Lol.
