Pork and Green Bean Sauté

July 9, 2024

Pork and green bean sauté is a quick, flavorful, and satisfying meal that combines tender pork with crisp green beans in a savory, garlicky sauce. Perfect for busy weeknights or when you’re craving something delicious but easy to prepare, this dish can be cooked in one pan for minimal cleanup and maximum taste.

To start, you’ll need thinly sliced pork tenderloin or pork chops. The pork is sautéed until golden brown and crispy on the edges, infusing the dish with rich flavor. For the sauté sauce, you can use a simple combination of garlic, soy sauce, ginger, and a splash of sesame oil to give the pork an Asian-inspired depth of flavor. A touch of honey or brown sugar adds just the right balance of sweetness to complement the savory elements.

Next, add the green beans to the pan. The beans are stir-fried until tender but still crisp, retaining their vibrant color and fresh texture. The green beans absorb the sauce, which enhances their natural flavor, making them a perfect match for the savory pork. For added texture and taste, you can toss in a handful of chopped onions, bell peppers, or even a sprinkle of chili flakes for a spicy kick.

The beauty of this dish lies in its simplicity. With just a few ingredients and one pan, you can create a complete, healthy meal that’s loaded with protein, fiber, and vitamins. Pork and green bean sauté is versatile, too – swap the green beans for other vegetables like broccoli, zucchini, or snap peas if you prefer. Serve it over rice, quinoa, or noodles for a more filling meal, or enjoy it on its own for a lighter option.

In less than 30 minutes, you’ll have a flavorful, healthy dinner on the table that’s both satisfying and easy to prepare. Whether you’re cooking for a family or just yourself, this pork and green bean sauté is sure to become a go-to meal for busy nights.

Can I use some other meat instead of pork? Like chicken?

    1. User avatar casie.smitham says:

      4 stars
I think chicken would work, but it might change the flavor a bit. Just make sure to cook it long enough! 🙂

    2. 2 stars
Why would you wanna use chicken? This is a pork dish! Just follow the recipe!

I tried it but I think I used too much soy sauce. Ended up too salty for my taste.

I always find that soy sauce can be tricky. Maybe try less next time, or dilute it with a bit of water!

    1. User avatar jacque.brakus says:

      3 stars
Yeah, but fresh is not always easy to find! Sometimes it’s just what you have in the freezer. Taste good anyway!

  40. User avatar sena.bartoletti says:

Umm… what’s the point of using oyster sauce? Is it even necessary?

    1. User avatar german.hills1 says:

      5 stars
Oyster sauce adds a really unique flavor to dishes! It balances sweetness and saltiness, which is great for a stir-fry like this. You should definitely give it a try!

    2. 2 stars
I don’t see the need for oyster sauce. Can’t you just use more soy sauce instead? Seems a bit extra to me.

  41. User avatar NAFO.SUPREMACY says:

    2 stars
Is it really 1 lb of each? Seemed like too much for just 2 people. Maybe I should’ve halved it.

    1. User avatar danyelle.abbott1957 says:

      4 stars
You could definitely half it if it’s just for two! 1 lb each does seem like a lot. I usually make it for leftovers.

    5 stars
This dish was amazing! The flavors blended perfectly and my family loved it!

Why does it say cornstarch? That can’t be right! Isn’t this just stir fry?

    1. User avatar Frankie and Benjy says:

      4 stars
Actually, cornstarch is used to thicken the sauce, which makes it better. It’s not just a stir fry but a sauté with flavor!

    2. User avatar lesley.oconner20 says:

      2 stars
I thought stir fry was just veggies and meat, but I guess it needs some sauce too? Kinda confused…

  52. User avatar michal.lockman72 says:

I don’t know about this one. The pork came out dry. Maybe I did something wrong?

    1. User avatar len.hand1957 says:

      4 stars
Maybe you cooked it too long? Pork can dry out fast if overcooked.

  53. User avatar liberal.hero says:

Were supposed to use fresh beans, but I used frozen. Still turned out alright, I guess.

    1. 4 stars
Frozen beans? Wow, I’m impressed they still turned out good! I always mess up recipes when I try to substitute stuff.

  54. 5 stars
