A quick and easy one-pot pasta dish made with fresh tomatoes, garlic, and basil.
8 ounces spaghetti | |
2 tablespoons olive oil | |
4 cloves garlic, minced | |
4 cups chopped tomatoes | |
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes | |
1/4 cup chopped fresh basil | |
Salt and black pepper to taste | |
Grated Parmesan cheese for serving |
1. | Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain and set aside. |
2. | In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant. |
3. | Add the chopped tomatoes and red pepper flakes to the skillet. Cook for 10 minutes, until the tomatoes start to break down and release their juices. |
4. | Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet and toss to combine with the tomato mixture. Cook for an additional 2 minutes, until heated through. |
5. | Stir in the chopped fresh basil. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. |
6. | Serve the pasta with grated Parmesan cheese on top. |
