Grilled Greek lobster tails are an elegant and flavorful seafood dish that brings a Mediterranean twist to your table. Fresh lobster tails are butterflied and marinated with olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, and a touch of sea salt, creating a zesty, aromatic flavor profile that pairs beautifully with the natural sweetness of lobster. Grilling enhances the flavor even further, adding a smoky char that perfectly complements the bright, herbaceous marinade.
The preparation is simple yet impressive. The lobster tails are split down the center to expose the meat, allowing the marinade to soak in and infuse every bite. The combination of lemon and garlic provides brightness, while oregano and fresh herbs give it that unmistakable Greek flair. A drizzle of olive oil helps keep the meat tender and juicy as it cooks.
Grilled over medium heat, the lobster tails develop a slightly crisp, golden exterior while remaining buttery and tender inside. The key is not to overcook them, lobster cooks quickly, usually in about 5 to 7 minutes, turning opaque and firm when done.
Serve your grilled Greek lobster tails with a squeeze of fresh lemon and a sprinkle of chopped parsley or dill. They pair beautifully with sides like a classic Greek salad, roasted potatoes with herbs, or grilled vegetables. For a touch of indulgence, a side of tzatziki sauce or a lemon-garlic butter for dipping takes it to the next level.
As for drinks, pair this dish with a crisp white wine like Sauvignon Blanc, Assyrtiko, or a light rosé. Even a chilled sparkling water with a squeeze of lemon complements the fresh, vibrant flavors perfectly.
Grilled Greek lobster tails are perfect for a summer gathering, a special dinner, or anytime you want to impress with minimal effort but maximum flavor. It’s a dish that feels luxurious but stays light, fresh, and simple, just like the best of Mediterranean cuisine.

- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper

I’m skeptical about the whole grilling thing. Isn’t boiling better for lobster?
Boiling makes it more tender, right? I dunno… would love to try grilling tho.
I think grilling brings out a unique flavor that boiling just can’t match. Give it a shot!
Anyone know what else can I use instead of olive oil? I’ve got sunflower oil.
Sunflower oil should work just fine! It’s more mild, so it won’t overpower the flavors. Just use a bit less than the olive oil, maybe?
This looks amazing! Can’t wait to try it out this weekend!
Thanks! I’m so excited to try it too! Do you think I could use shrimp instead?
The ingredient list is pure perfection! Oregano and garlic?! Yes please!
I dunno… garlic and oregano on lobster? Seems a bit off to me. Lobster deserves better.
Totally agree! Oregano and garlic just bring everything to life. Can’t wait to try this recipe!
Looks good, but what’s the deal with the ‘vein’ thing? Do I gotta do that?
Not a fan of lobster! I dunno why people like it. 😬
I tried this recipe and it was pretty bland. Add more spices next time!
Yummy! Always wanted to make lobster at home instead of just at restaurants!
Gonna make this for my mom’s birthday! Hope it’s as good as it sounds!
That sounds amazing! Your mom will love it! Just be careful not to overcook the lobster, it can get tough! 🦞
