Greek Chicken Stew is the kind of dish that fills the kitchen with warmth and rich aromas, offering a perfect blend of Mediterranean flavors. This hearty stew combines tender chicken with vegetables, olives, and the unmistakable tang of lemon and herbs, creating a comforting, flavorful meal that’s both satisfying and nourishing.
The heart of this stew is the chicken, which is slow-cooked to perfection until it’s tender and infused with the flavors of the broth. The stew’s base is a combination of olive oil, garlic, onions, and fresh tomatoes, creating a flavorful foundation that is both rich and fresh. A generous amount of oregano, thyme, and bay leaves adds a delightful herby note, giving the dish its signature Greek flair.
One of the standout elements of Greek Chicken Stew is the inclusion of olives. The briny olives add a savory depth that balances the sweetness of the tomatoes and the mildness of the chicken. The addition of potatoes or root vegetables provides a hearty texture and makes the stew even more filling, while the bright, citrusy lemon cuts through the richness of the stew and adds a refreshing contrast.
What makes this stew so special is its ability to bring together familiar ingredients in a way that feels both comforting and vibrant. The flavors are bold but not overpowering, and the dish has a lightness to it that doesn’t leave you feeling heavy. It’s perfect for cozy family dinners or a special meal to share with friends.
The versatility of Greek Chicken Stew also makes it a great choice for meal prep. The stew tastes even better the next day as the flavors continue to develop. Whether you enjoy it with a slice of crusty bread or a simple Greek salad on the side, this dish is sure to become a favorite.

This stew was delicious! My family loved it and asked for seconds. Will make again.
It was okay, but I think it needs more spices. Just tasted like chicken.
Easy to make but I think it needs somethin else. More veggies or like peppers in it could be better. Overall ok.
Pretty good, but I felt like it was missing something. Maybe more herbs? 🤔
I followed the recipe to a T but it turned out pretty bland. Maybe add more spices? I was expecting a stronger flavor.
Absolute hit! I added some feta on top and it was amazing. Thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it! Feta sounds like a tasty addition. I’ll have to try that next time!
This stews so good! I made it for my family and they loved it. Definitely a keeper!
I don’t even like stew, but this one was fine. Good enough.. ate some!!
Sounds nice but kettle takes longer for cook chicken right? I don’t think it can be done in 30 min.
Actually, it’s possible! Cooking times can vary, but if you cut the chicken into smaller pieces, it can cook faster. Give it a try!
Nah, man! 30 mins for chicken? That’s barely enough time. I mean, depends how you do it, but still seems fishy.
I followed the recipe but my chicken turned out dry. I think it needs more cooking time or something?
I had the same problem! Try marinating the chicken beforehand, it helps keep it juicy.
I tried this last night and it was delish! So much flavor, I can’t get over it!
Yummm!!! This is simply delicious! My kids loved it and that’s saying something! 😍
I burned mine, but it smells good. Guess you gotta pay attention.
Easy to make! I added more veggies like potatoes and it was delicious. Will make again for sure!
Tastes just like my grandma’s! I had some with rice and it was perfect. Thanks for sharing this!
I’m so glad you liked it! It really does bring back those family vibes. 🌟
Yummy!
I love chicken. Why not use beef instead? Is that okay. Anyone?
This was soooo good! My family loved it! Will make again. 😀
I followed the recipe exactly, but it came out super runny. What did I do wrong?
Isn’t this just a chicken soup? 🤔 Idk, but I like it.
It does kinda sound like chicken soup at first glance, but trust me, the flavors are way more complex! 😋
Not sure what all the fuss is about. It was just okay. Kinda bland if you ask me. Maybe I did something wrong?
Don’t use canned tomatoes! Fresh is way better! Just my opinion.
I totally agree with you! Fresh ingredients make everything taste way better. I always use fresh tomatoes in my dishes.
Just okay. It felt like I was missing something but I don’t know what.
OMGG I loved it! Even my picky kids were eating. Big win! 🎉
That’s awesome! I had the same experience with my kids. They usually hate vegetables, but this stew was a hit! 😍
I followed the recipe but my chicken was still raw inside. Not cool! 😡
Easy recipe! I like how simple it is! Great meal for busy weeknights.
Sounds great, but isn’t chicken stew supposed to take longer? I thought this was too quick to be good. 🤔
I tried this recipe last week. It was so easy and tasty! My family loved it. Definitely a keeper!
Not what I expected. I think it needs more spices. Was kinda bland for my taste.
Bland? Nah, I thought it was just fine! I guess everyone has different tastes. 🤷♂️
I get what you mean! I threw in some cumin and paprika, and it really kicked it up a notch. Maybe give that a try!
I never made stew before. It was easier than I thought! tho i used beef 🤷♂️
Wait, beef? I thought this was chicken stew! 😅 Hope it still tasted good!
That’s awesome! Stewing is really forgiving, you can pretty much throw in whatever you want. Beef sounds great too! 👍
This stew is fantastic! The flavors are to die for and perfect for a cold evening. My family loved it!
I tried making this and forgot the chicken broth! It wasn’t great without it. Maybe I’m just forgetful haha. My bad!
Too much grease! Wouldn’t recommend. I’ll stick to my chili, thanks.
I didn’t have any chicken broth, so I used water. Not the best choice, lol.
This stew was amazing! The chicken was so tender and the flavors were on point. Definitely making this again!
Why use chicken thighs? They always get kinda chewy. I prefer breasts for stews.
