Dairy Kugel – by Elliott S Bender

Ingredients
  

  • 8 oz broad noodles
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 small container sour cream
  • 8 oz small curd cottage cheese
  • 1 stick butter
  • butter for greasing the pan

Instructions
 

Preheat Oven:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Cook Noodles:

  • Boil 8 oz of broad noodles according to package instructions until al dente.
  • Drain the noodles and set aside.

Prepare Mixture:

  • In a large bowl, combine the drained noodles, 2 eggs, 3/4 cup sugar, sour cream, and cottage cheese.
  • Add 2 teaspoons of cinnamon.
  • Use a hand mixer to blend all the ingredients until well combined.

Prepare Baking Dish:

  • Grease a 9×9 inch glass casserole dish with butter.
  • Pour the noodle mixture into the prepared baking dish.

Add Butter and Cinnamon:

  • Cut the stick of butter into small pats and place them evenly on top of the noodle mixture.
  • Sprinkle additional cinnamon all over the top of the casserole.

Bake And Serve:

  • Bake in the preheated oven at 350°F for about 40-45 minutes, or until the top noodles turn a light brown.
  • Once done, remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
