There’s something magical about the smell of cinnamon filling the air as these warm, golden muffins bake in the oven. Cinnamon muffins are the ultimate comfort food for breakfast, a midday snack, or even as a sweet treat to enjoy with your afternoon coffee. With their tender crumb and sweet cinnamon swirl, they combine the richness of baked goods with the spicy-sweet goodness of cinnamon, making them irresistible to anyone who takes a bite.
These muffins are easy to make, and they come together in no time, which makes them a perfect choice when you need a homemade snack but don’t have hours to spend in the kitchen. The recipe features simple ingredients: flour, sugar, eggs, butter, and milk, staples you likely have on hand. The magic happens when you add a generous amount of ground cinnamon, which gives the muffins their signature flavor.
What sets these muffins apart is the cinnamon-sugar swirl. A mixture of cinnamon and sugar is sprinkled into the batter before baking, creating that delightful swirl of sweetness and spice that runs through each muffin. As they bake, the cinnamon-sugar caramelizes just slightly, adding a touch of richness. The muffins come out of the oven golden-brown, with a light, fluffy texture and a perfect amount of sweetness.
While cinnamon muffins are delicious on their own, you can elevate them even further by topping them with a drizzle of glaze or a sprinkle of coarse sugar before baking for a touch of extra sweetness and crunch. They’re also incredibly versatile, feel free to add chopped nuts, like walnuts or pecans, for a bit of texture, or stir in raisins or dried cranberries for an added burst of flavor.
Cinnamon muffins are perfect for a lazy weekend breakfast, an office treat, or when you want something simple yet satisfying. They’re a guaranteed crowd-pleaser that works for any occasion, filling the kitchen with the irresistible scent of fresh-baked goodness. Whether served warm with a dollop of butter or enjoyed straight from the cooling rack, these cinnamon muffins are a sweet, comforting bite of happiness.

I tried making them, but mine came out kinda dry. I followed the recipe exactly.
Maybe you overmixed? That can make them dry!
So easy to make! Even my kids loved them. Thanks for the recipe!
Yuck! I think nutmeg and cinnamon don’t mix, they taste too similar. Never making these again.
I disagree! Nutmeg and cinnamon add a warm flavor combo. These muffins are one of my favorites!
To each their own, but I love cinnamon and nutmeg together. Guess you can’t please everyone!
Meh, not my favorite. Why would you put nuts in muffins? Just makes them hard to chew. 🤷
I don’t have nutmeg, can I just leave it out? Will it ruin the muffins?
These muffins are AMAZING!! Fluffy and super tasty. Will definitely make again!
Yummy! I added chocolate chips too! Best decision ever.
These muffins are da bomb!! Wish I could eat them for breakfast every day.
Simple and easy! I made these in a hurry, and the kids gobbled them up. Will be making again.
Muffins should always be made with butter, not vegetable oil! Not sure about this one.
These muffins were fantastic! The cinnamon flavor is just right. My whole family loved them!
Cinnamon muffins are a classic, they remind me of my grandma. I added a bit more sugar and they came out sooo good!
I followed the recipe exactly, but mine turned out dry. Maybe I overcooked them? Not sure if I’ll try again.
I don’t get how u can mess up muffins. Just follow the steps! Maybe your oven is hotter than mine? Idk.
That can happen! Make sure to check them a minute or two before the timer goes off next time. They might need less time in your oven.
I don’t get why everyone’s loving these so much. They taste fine, but not that special…
