A delicious and healthy chicken and cabbage dish that can be made in a skillet.
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts | |
1 small head of cabbage, shredded | |
1 onion, thinly sliced | |
3 cloves of garlic, minced | |
2 tablespoons of olive oil | |
1 teaspoon of paprika | |
1/2 teaspoon of salt | |
1/4 teaspoon of black pepper | |
1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes (optional) | |
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish) |
1. | Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. |
2. | Season the chicken breasts with paprika, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). |
3. | Add the chicken breasts to the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until cooked through. |
4. | Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside. |
5. | In the same skillet, add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. |
6. | Add the shredded cabbage to the skillet and cook for 8-10 minutes, or until the cabbage is wilted and tender. |
7. | Slice the cooked chicken breasts and add them back to the skillet with the cabbage. |
8. | Stir everything together and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until heated through. |
9. | Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot. |
