A classic appetizer featuring spicy buffalo sauce and tender chicken wings.
3 lbs chicken wings | |
1 cup hot sauce | |
1/2 cup unsalted butter | |
1/4 cup white vinegar | |
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce | |
1/2 tsp garlic powder | |
1/2 tsp onion powder | |
1/2 tsp salt | |
1/4 tsp black pepper | |
Vegetable oil, for frying |
1. | In a large saucepan, combine the hot sauce, butter, white vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Heat over medium heat until the butter is melted, stirring occasionally. |
2. | In a deep fryer or large pot, heat vegetable oil to 375°F (190°C). |
3. | Add the chicken wings to the hot oil in batches and fry for 12-15 minutes, or until crispy and cooked through. |
4. | Transfer the cooked wings to a large bowl and pour the buffalo sauce over them. Toss until the wings are evenly coated in the sauce. |
5. | Serve the buffalo chicken wings hot with celery sticks and blue cheese or ranch dressing for dipping. |
