September 11, 2024

Looking for a crowd-pleasing appetizer that’s full of flavor and just the right amount of heat? Look no further than Buffalo Chicken Dip! This creamy, spicy dip is a guaranteed hit at any party, tailgate, or game day gathering. It combines all the flavors of buffalo chicken wings with the creamy richness of cheese and ranch dressing—what’s not to love?

The base of this dip is made from tender shredded chicken, which can be cooked in advance and mixed with creamy cream cheese, tangy ranch dressing, and a good dose of buffalo sauce. The result is a spicy, cheesy dip that’s irresistibly rich and satisfying. The buffalo sauce gives the dip that signature heat and tang, while the cream cheese and ranch dressing help to balance it out with their creamy texture.

To make Buffalo Chicken Dip, start by cooking your chicken and shredding it, or use pre-cooked rotisserie chicken for an easy shortcut. Combine the chicken with the buffalo sauce, cream cheese, ranch dressing, and a handful of shredded cheddar cheese. Stir everything together, and then bake in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes until it’s bubbling and golden on top.

For an extra cheesy finish, sprinkle more shredded cheese on top and let it melt for the perfect gooey texture. You can serve the dip with tortilla chips, celery sticks, or even crackers for dipping. It’s also great as a topping for baked potatoes or stuffed into a wrap for a unique twist.

Buffalo Chicken Dip is the perfect balance of spicy, creamy, and savory, making it a go-to snack for gatherings. It’s simple to make, requires minimal ingredients, and can be easily doubled for larger parties. Whether you’re hosting a party or just need a quick snack, this dip is sure to be a favorite.

I tried this but it was too spicy for me. I think next time I’ll use less hot sauce.

I agree, it can get pretty fiery! Maybe try cutting the hot sauce by half next time?

Kinda bland. Thought it would be spicier. Needs some jalapenos or something.

Not my favorite. I think it needs something… more spice or something sweet? Idk.

Great recipe, but I’m not a fan of ranch. Can I use something else instead?

You could totally swap out the ranch for sour cream or even yogurt! It’ll still be creamy. Yum!

I dunno, ranch is kinda the main thing for that dip… but maybe try a honey mustard or something? Idk.

Not as good as my family’s recipe, but still decent. The ranch was a bit much.

I don’t like blue cheese and was hesitant to try this. I replaced the blue cheese with more cheddar, and it turned out great!

I used chicken breast instead of rotisserie and it still turned out fab! Highly recommend.

Did anyone else have issues with it being too oily? I had to drain a lot after cooking.

    1. User avatar Sabine Botsford says:

I didn’t have that issue at all! Mine turned out great and not oily. Maybe check the amount of ranch dressing you used?

I love it spicy, but I get it! You can definitely tone it down for your taste. Maybe try using more ranch to balance it out?

I didn’t understand the baking part. Shouldn’t it be cold when made? 🤷‍♂️

    1. User avatar Conrad Conn says:

Actually, it tastes way better hot! You want all the flavors to meld together, trust me! 😋

    2. User avatar Arthur Dent says:

Baking? Why bake it? It’s a dip, it should be served cold! Totally confused now. 🤔
