6 large eggs | |
1 cup milk | |
1/2 cup heavy cream | |
1/4 cup sugar | |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract | |
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon | |
1 loaf French bread, cut into cubes | |
1 cup mixed berries (such as strawberries, blueberries, raspberries) | |
1/4 cup maple syrup | |
Powdered sugar for dusting |
1. | In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. |
2. | Add the bread cubes to the mixture and toss to coat. Let it sit for 30 minutes to allow the bread to soak up the liquid. |
3. | Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish and add half of the bread mixture. |
4. | Sprinkle half of the mixed berries over the bread. |
5. | Add the remaining bread mixture on top and scatter the rest of the mixed berries. |
6. | Drizzle maple syrup over the casserole. |
7. | Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden and the center is set. |
