Is this dish supposed to be spicy? Because I used sweet paprika and it was just not for my taste. Next time I’ll try a different recipe.

I tried this and my beef was kinda tough. I followed the instructions but maybe it needed more simmering? Not sure, but I ain’t impressed.

I followed the reciepe but it was too salty. Maybe I’ll use less salt next time.

I think your salt amount might vary depending on the broth you used! Some broths are saltier than others. Just needs a little adjustment, I guess! 👍

Sour cream ain’t for cooking beef. I prefer it without, tasted fake to me.

I dunno, I think it sounds good. But what if you make it without and then try it once? You might like it better than you think!

I disagree! Sour cream adds richness and a creamy texture that balances the spices. I love it in this dish! 😊

Not bad but a bit too rich for my taste. Maybe less sour cream next time?

I agree, it can be a little heavy. A dollop of sour cream is usually good enough! Less is more! 🍽️

I think it’s perfect! But we all have different tastes. Maybe try Greek yogurt instead next time.

Amazing recipe! Can I use chicken instead of beef? Asking for a friend.

    1. 4 stars
I think chicken could work, but the flavor will be different. Beef has that hearty taste! Just sayin’.

    2. User avatar Spider Guardian says:

      3 stars
Nah, beef is a big part of this dish. Chicken will totally change it up! Better stick to beef.

Total fail for me. The sauce wouldn’t thicken and I ended up with a soup. So sad!!

    1. User avatar loma.runolfsson65 says:

      5 stars
You must’ve done something wrong. I made it and the sauce was super thick! Maybe too much broth?

    2. User avatar bradley.heller63 says:

      4 stars
Sorry to hear that! Did you let the sauce cook long enough after adding the sour cream? That usually helps it thicken up.

  27. User avatar darcey.ohara94 says:

I thought this was supposed to be spicy? It wasn’t spicy at all. Who uses sour cream in paprikash?

    1. User avatar douglass.marvin21 says:

      4 stars
What? No spice?! It should be spicy! And sour cream is a common thing in lots of recipes. Might just be your taste buds. 🤔

    2. User avatar Dr. Stepanie Lynch says:

      3 stars
I totally agree! I expected it to be more spicy too. Sour cream in paprikash? That’s kinda weird. I would skip it next time.

  28. User avatar alexander.gleason says:

I didn’t have beef broth, so used chicken instead. Still turned out nice! 😋

I dunno how you can call this authentic beef paprikash, but it worked out ok. My babushka would be shocked.

    1. 3 stars
I totally get you! My grandma makes the best paprikash, and this just doesn’t compare. But hey, it can still be tasty I guess!

    2. 4 stars
Authentic? Nah, not really. But if it tasted good, that’s what matters! 🙌

Followed the recipe exactly but mine came out kinda bland… anyone else have this problem?
