The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a public health alert for fully cooked Park Street Deli Pork Carnitas after small pieces of metal were found in the product. The contamination is believed to have occurred due to damaged equipment during production.
These carnitas were made by Cargill Meat Solutions and sold at Aldi stores nationwide. Although a formal recall wasn’t issued—since the items are no longer on store shelves—the FSIS is warning that some consumers may still have them at home.
