Spread peanut butter to cover the bread. Set aside.
Coating: In a shallow bowl large enough for a slice of bread, mix the egg, flour, and milk to create the coating.
Lay the peanut butter-covered bread in the coating and flip it over so both sides are coated.
Cook: Place the coated bread peanut butter-side down in a medium-hot skillet with a little oil or cooking spray.
Repeat the coating and cooking process with each slice of bread.
When the first side is browned, flip the bread to cook the other side until brown. (You can cook 2 or 3 pieces at once in a large skillet.)
Once browned, place the bread on a plate and pour syrup over it.
For syrup, I prefer homemade. In a separate saucepan, make your own syrup by dissolving 2 cups of white sugar in 1 cup of water. Add 1 teaspoon of Mapleine flavoring (or follow the directions on the bottle, but I use a little extra).
Eat and enjoy!
