Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions in a large pot of salted boiling water. Drain and set aside.
In a large pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, and sauté until the onion is translucent.
Increase the heat to high and add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
Stir in the canned tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, and basil. Season with salt and pepper.
Lower the heat to a simmer and cook for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened.
Mix the cooked spaghetti with the sauce and serve hot. Enjoy!
