Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
Add the crushed tomatoes, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Stir to combine. Simmer for 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the sauce. Toss to coat the pasta in the sauce.
Serve the pasta with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil leaves for garnish.
