200g pasta | |
1 tbsp olive oil | |
1 onion, diced | |
2 cloves garlic, minced | |
400g canned tomato sauce | |
150ml heavy cream | |
1 tsp dried basil | |
Salt and pepper to taste | |
Fresh basil and parmesan for garnish |
1. | Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside. |
2. | In a large pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. |
3. | Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute. |
4. | Pour in the canned tomato sauce and bring to a simmer. Cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. |
5. | Stir in the heavy cream and dried basil. Season with salt and pepper to taste. |
6. | Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and toss to coat evenly. |
7. | Serve the creamy tomato pasta garnished with fresh basil leaves. |
